Staff and Students at Litherland High have been working hard to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support with a whole variety of activities taking place. Both staff and students have been busy baking cakes and biscuits especially for the event! As part of the Macmillan Coffee Morning students hosted a special ‘Tea Party’ where staff members were able to drop in and be served by the students. There were also bake sales throughout the day in the school diner and parents and carers were treated to cake and a musical performance in the Avenue! Our Year 10 and 11 Catering students prepared a special home-made Afternoon Tea for the residents of St Nicholas’ Nursing home in Netherton. A group of 14 students visited the Nursing Home to spend time talking to the residents who were also treated to a performance from members of our very own school band, On the Brink, as well as other singers and musicians. A spokesperson from St Nicholas’ said ‘The residents really enjoyed the performance and would welcome another visit from them soon.‘ Special sporting events also took place to help raise money, including a student led football match! We have raised over £700 so far and the donations are still rolling in!
