Sustainability

Here at Litherland High School, creating a sustainability learning environment is important to us.

Rain Water Harvesting System

Over a decade ago we implemented a bespoke rainwater harvesting system in our school, to facilitate a reduced reliance on mains water and a reduced water waste.

Since then, we have been committed to rainwater harvesting and have so-far recycled over one million litres of rainwater for non-potable use. This figure is equivalent to 12,600 bathtubs worth of water and results in a carbon saving of 287KG CO2.

See below a case study created by our Rainwater Harvesting Partner detailing Litherland High's efforts and continued belief in sustainability.
