About us

Litherland High School is a vibrant and thriving community of wonderful children and fantastic, caring staff which we affectionately call our ‘Livo Family’.

Our school ethos is very much built around our dedication to the academic success of our children whilst maintaining outstanding pastoral care and support. Our staff know our children and families exceptionally well and in doing so, we develop strong relationships which underpin the achievement of our students. We take our role as a central
part of the local community extremely seriously and we genuinely believe our school is unique in the strength of the bonds between staff and students.

Our school values are ‘Kindness, Integrity, and Tenacity’, and we endeavour to keep these values at the heart of our actions, and encourage our children to do the same.

What are we looking for?

The Governing Body is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and well-qualified Head of Year (Pastoral) to join our highly committed team, to take a leading role in supporting the welfare, safeguarding and personal development of students within a designated year group. The position will be a permanent appointment starting as soon as
possible.

The ideal candidate will have a positive impact on student wellbeing, attendance and engagement, and be effective at supporting students to overcome barriers to learning. They will have experience in a pastoral, safeguarding or school-based role, excellent interpersonal skills, strong organisational ability and the capacity to work effectively
with students, families and external agencies. This is an exciting opportunity for a positive, enthusiastic and committed individual. The work will involve leading on safeguarding, attendance and welfare, as well as supporting students through targeted interventions, including 1:1 and small group work.

You will need to work well within a team and have the highest expectations to ensure our students achieve positive outcomes. You must have a strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing, and be willing to work closely with vulnerable students and their families, as well as a range of external professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who wish to develop in a supportive, well-resourced and rewarding environment.
